Tree Planing - Woodlands Trust

Baxenden Scouts On Saturday 1st March 2008, leaders and scouts from the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts Sections of 1st Baxenden Scout Group went along to plant trees at the Woodlands Trust at Earby.

We had a fantastic turnout from all the sections - even though the cold windy weather threatend to beat us !!

I think it was safe to say that we generally had a fun time and we managed to cover quite a large section of turf too, so also quite a productive morning for a Saturday!!

Thanks to everybody who attended, especially the parents who came along, spade in hand and helped the group achive the Group Environment award.

Scout Meeting 29/06/07

Yahoo! Avatars U.K. & Ireland
Hello, Brainiac here and welcome to the update to the meets.
This week I was given the task of being a tester of the blog. This happened in secret and noone at scouts know. Yet.

Also we had a photo shoot and that went better than the centenary one, (see below).

We made rockets and paper darts as well. The rockets made dents in the roof and the darts were flying everywhere, which made it fun!

And finally we had three people invested into scouts and a bulk of badges given out as well.

Welcome to the Scouts Section

Scouting ImageThe Scout Section is for young people, aged between 10½ and 14 years.

Scouts are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities as part of their programme and that helps them to find out about the world in which they live, encourage them to know their own abilities and the importance of developing their own creative talents. It also provides opportunities to explore their own values and personal attitudes. Also, Incorporated into the Programme are the traditional Scouting skills, such as camping, survival and cooking as well as the wide range of adventurous activities.

Scouting is about being with friends, as part of a team, participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of life!
